Looking for ways to differentiate your word work or literacy centers in first or second grade? This bundle of differentiated cut and paste printable word sort activities may be just what you need!
This set of activities combines six cut and paste word sort packs
, each focusing on a different phonics or spelling pattern, in one money saving bundle. Click the links below to see sample pages and take a closer look at each of them:
• CVC Cut and Paste Word Sorts
• CVC or CVCe Cut and Paste Word Sorts
• Blends Cut and Paste Word Sorts
• Digraphs (sh, ch, th, and wh) Cut and Paste Word Sorts
• Vowel Digraphs Cut and Paste Word Sorts
• R-Controlled Vowel Cut and Paste Word Sorts
My favorite part about these packs is that each printable page is offered in three differentiated levels. The first level of each page asks students to trace the word representing the picture shown and then cut, sort, and paste the words onto the recording sheet. (I use this level with my ELL newcomers and some special education students.) The mid-level version asks students to fill in the missing letters and then cut, sort, and paste. The most challenging version asks students to write the words before cutting, sorting, and pasting them. (When using this final set, you may need to take a moment go over what each picture represents orally before students begin.)
