An important lesson that I like to teach my Orchestra students are practice guidelines and how to practice effectively at home. Often, during small group lessons, I have each student create 1 small goal for a practice session. After I approve the goal, students go to different "Practice Stations" in the room, set up with a chair and music stand. They bring their music and their "Practice Session Goal" sheet. I walk around from Practice Station to Practice Station going over step by step different ways to approach a measure in the music and break it down. This allows the students to see that they are capable of achieving goals during each practice session and at the end of our lesson, they feel accomplished knowing they can go home and do this same thing without my guidance!
This download gives you 11 sheets total. The first one says Practice Stations and the rest of creatively decorated and colorful with the labels "PRACTICE STATION 1" "PRACTICE STATION 2", ETC. Up to "PRACTICE STATION 10" Each practice station sign is a different patterned background and color. These look great from a colored printer, laminated and then attached to a music stand.
