Clip charts are such a wonderful way to reinforce behavior in the elementary classrooms! I like this version where kids are able to move up and down throughout the day. I find it very powerful, simple, and effective. Whether or no there is a "prize" associated with where you are on the clip chart (ex: person highest up can be line leader!) kids WANT to be in the positive colors on the clip chart, and many times when they move their clip down, they work extra hard to move it back up! This clip chart has polka dots and cute kiddos. I like the happy and not so happy expressions for my class (which is an SDC class) because I think the visuals provide more meaning for some kids of where they are on the chart.
Also included is a "Why I went to Red today" slip. You can of course choose to use this or not, but I like to send these home when a student goes to red (which indicates Parent Contact) because it gives the student a chance to explain in writing why they went to red, and be accountable for their behavior.
