***You will need snap cubes to complete this activity***
This handout / activity can be used to practice (1st Grade) Georgia Standard of Excellence / Georgia Performance Standard:
MGSE1.MD.4 : Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.
Please visit my store for additional DATA resources and assessments that address all components of the aforementioned standard.
This document can be printed in black and white and is just as effective. If you do print it in black and white, for fun you can have the students color the cubes with the colors that they correspond to on the sheet.
This activity speaks to Gardner's multiple intelligences as it is excellent for a class of students that have strong intrapersonal skills and like to work alone.
Differentiation is content based as students can choose this or another DATA activity from my store based on their interest or skill level as I also offer more challenging activity sheets that require students to collect their own data.
Higher order thinking is also promoted with the addition of a challenge question that gets the students thinking!
I gave my students a choice of doing this activity or the ice cream DATA activity found in my store.
Thank you for your support!
