This Document Based Question (DBQ) can be used in many ways from standardized test prep and review to a substitute teacher lesson.
The topic looks at militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism as causes for starting World War One. It follows the format of the New York State social studies testing requirements for writing DBQs. The DBQ packet has 11 pages total, 8 pages are questions stemming from 10 primary or secondary source documents. The sources include one map, a chart, three cartoons and a newspaper headline. Each document is followed by at least one constructed response question and a summary essay question using the documents wraps up the DBQ.
I’ve left the DBQ as a Word Document so that you can add more space for writing answers as needed.
If you want this DBQ, you can make it as part of my Build a Bundle
