This document-based question (DBQ) topic is the Roman Empire -- specifically the long period of peace from 27 BC to 180 AD called the Pax Romana. The document has 9 pages total and includes 7 primary or secondary source documents including a map and 3 images. A constructed response questions follow each document and there is a final essay question using the documents.
I’ve left the DBQ as a Word Document so that you can add more space for writing answers as needed.
This DBQ follows the format for the New York State social studies testing requirements for writing DBQs and was created for 9th Grade World History and is aligned to Common Core Standards. It could also be used as a review for the New York State Global History and Geography Regents exam.
