Product Description
Cold War U.S. containment policy DBQ. Students should have some prior knowledge of the early years of the Cold War and an understanding of the Berlin Blockade and airlift prior to completing this activity. The documents include an excerpt from Churchill's Iron Curtain Speech, a political cartoon about the Berlin Airlift, an excerpt from the Truman Doctrine, an excerpt about the Marshall Plan, an excerpt from the NATO foundational documents, and a list of NATO and Warsaw Pact member states. Students answer questions for each document and then write an essay in response to a prompt. This can be done as a group or independently in class, or as a homework assignment.
