I developed this game for my students who were still confusing tenths and hundredths. I have been using it for about six months now and I am happy that it is working well. It provides the practice they need and they are having fun at the same time, so playing it over and over means the skills come easily.
There are 54 cards in the game. I have included a sample of the tenths and hundredths cards in the PREVIEW. Players have to make pairs adding to 1. The inclusion of extra cards, WILD, STEAL and MISS A TURN add a bit of fun and strategy.
Directions for play are included. I deal out 10 cards for two players, 8 for 3 or 4 players, but it's up to you. It's quick and you can easily incorporate it into an RTI session like I do. Alternatively, add it to a Maths Centre, especially if you have intervention kids who already know how to play it. They will enjoy teaching it to the rest of the class while consolidating the skills.
Games are the magic ingredient when you need repetition for skill development. You'll avoid the boredom that lots of worksheets can generate.
