These passages start out very basic and increase in difficulty. They begin with only the letters o, a, d, g, c and introduce a new letters as the passages progress. All words in the passages can be sounded out and only include the letters that have been in previous passages as well as a few very common sight words. These passages contain vowels, consonants, and digraphs. Check out the preview for more information.
I wrote these to read with the Orton Gillinghamprogram Phonics First that my school uses for tier 2 instruction. You can begin with the first /o/ decodable word lists after Phonics First lesson 1-4. (Please note, the sight words a/and/and/the are included in these passages before they are introduced in the Phonics First program). The new letters and sight words are introduced in these passages in the same order that they are introduced in this program.
