DESKTOP PUBLISHING (Comp.Apps/ Wd.Proc.) "#8 School Admin. Organization Chart"

DESKTOP PUBLISHING (Comp.Apps/ Wd.Proc.) "#8 School Admin. Organization Chart"
Product Description
DESKTOP PUBLISHING (Computer Applications - Word Processing - Keyboarding) "#8 School Administration Organization Chart" - is a flyer that includes the creation of the student's school administrative organizational chart. Numerous textboxes need to be properly placed and grouped as one object. Students will follow the instructions presented in the activity. How this is created depends upon the size of their school. IDEA: An enhancement could include adding pictures of the administrators, if they are available. The rubric is included with this activity. This 8th activity is one of 30 different activities divided out into 6 different parts here in our store. Each part is composed of 5 activities. THESE PARTS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE IN BUNDLES!

All of these desktop publishing activities can be easily implemented in Keyboarding, Computer Applications, and Word Processing classes. These publishing activities are those that the author has written for a comprehensive desktop publishing curriculum that she has developed for her own students; therefore, each set becomes progressively more difficult as students progress through the various activities in each of the parts.

Are you looking for desktop publishing materials that are sure to capture the attention of your students? Are you looking for activities that are challenging, meaningful, creative, and fun for your students? Would your students enjoy something different in your classes? . . . If so, then this is likely just what you are looking for.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATTENTION TEACHERS: Do the documents you create look drab and uninteresting for your students or other adults with whom you correspond? How often do you receive a "canned" document rather than one designed personally by the sender? If you want to perfect your own publishing skills, design/create/produce attractive and enticing documents others will find impressive, and enjoy looking more professional in what you present to others, this may be a consideration. Your purchase could serve a dual purpose for you and your students. These lessons are meant for anyone (students and adults alike) who wish to be more creative on paper or online, plus they can be easily modified when needed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before implementing any of these activities in your class, it is highly suggested that students learn the fundamentals of publishing by viewing the PowerPoint that we offer on this topic, receive instruction from you about your expectations and use of the hardware and software in your computer lab, and then proceed to creating other documents in the series. These activities take them through a step-by-step process of introducing them to some very basic concepts of publishing. As they progress from one set or single activity to the next, students will continue to build their DTP skills while applying the basic principles of design.

Throughout all of the 30 DTP activities available here on TpT, students create a variety of different flyers, brochures, forms, logos, programs, newsletters, etc. while working with graphics, tables, and numerous other formats. If students have Photoshop and other powerful software packages available in your classroom, the sky is the limit as to what they can achieve in creating graphics to include in these activities. These activities bring out the creativity and imagination of students, and they are FUN! How quickly they learn, how much they learn, and how well they learn it all depends upon YOU - their teacher - and your expertise. These activities are only here to help you with the process!

All of these activities have been created using Microsoft Office 2010 (Windows version), which is what the author currently uses. However, these activities can be easily modified for MS Word 2013, MS Publisher, and other publishing software. The author (who has taught publishing in several secondary schools) has experience in using Publisher and QuarkXPress with her own students, and she has used these same activities. All of Education Get Real's materials are copyright protected to protect the author's intellectual properties. However, it is relatively easy for desktop publishing students to make the adaptations when using these materials in the classroom with whatever software is provided.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A FREE suggested timeline/lesson plan is available here on our website which may be of help to you when implementing the various activities you purchase - they are especially useful to those teachers who purchase the BUNDLES.
