DAZE is a component of the DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) test which focuses on comprehension. It is a timed test. These are practice sheets to familiarize the students with the DAZE format, not intended to be timed but they can be (like a minute and a half per page). The intent of these sheets is to give the students practice with comprehension and vocabulary in the format of the DAZE test. Even if you have not been trained to administer the DIBELS test, these practice sheets are high interest and easy to use. The student reads the passage and when he/she comes to a box with three words in the box, he/she must select the word that makes the most sense in the passage. Topics include: Bigfoot, Loch Ness, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, Presidents Day, Cesar Chavez, Susan B. Anthony, MLK Jr and I have thrown in the first few paragraphs of a fiction book called Dragon's Lair for FREE. If bought each of these sheets individually, you'd spend about $9.00.
