This is a Powerpoint presentation designed to teach appropriate phrasing and help students improve word recognition skills and automaticity. The text of the familiar nursery rhyme "The Old Woman Who Lived in the Shoe" is presented a phrase at a time with color coding to help new text stand out. It can be presented on a Promethean or Smart Board or a large screen to a small group of students and students can take turns reading the phrases or it can be viewed by an individual student on a computer. I recommend using the presentation daily for five days and timing each day's reading to gauge improvement. Then print the final screen of the Powerpoint and add to a class book of Nursery Rhymes for further fluency practice. I will post additional similar presentations featuring different nursery rhymes.
