This product specifically focuses on ADDING, SUBTRACTING, MULTIPLYING, AND DIVIDING. Over 20 nights worth of differentiated math homework, including the concepts:
-Adding 2-Digit Numbers
-Adding 3-Digit Numbers
-Adding 2/3/4 Digit Numbers
-Adding/Subtracting As Opposite Operations
-Word/Story Problems for all Operations
-Modeling Multiplication (Set, Area, Line, Picture)

In my math classes, I find that there are a wide range of abilities. It is hard to challenge those are far above grade level while meeting the needs of students who are struggling. Each homework assignment has the standard listed as well as an "I can" objective.
It makes differentiated groups the next day in class very simple. Every Snowboard Math has 5 parts:
BUNNY HILL: (Everyone does this). This is a very easy, warm up question that reviews the concept. It usually includes vocabulary or a review skill.
HOT COCOA BREAK: (Everyone does this). These are released questions from 3rd grade Virginia SOLs (also works with Common Core). This gives you an opportunity to work on math test taking skills a little bit each night.
GREEN CIRCLE: (Low). You can either assign a group of students this homework section or let them choose (I prefer to let my students choose and then work with them where they feel they need practice). This takes the skill and works with it at a level that doesn't require multiple skills, higher thinking strategies: it is really the basics of the math skill. It also usually includes pictures of base-ten blocks or other visual crutches that help students understand the basics.
BLUE SQUARE: (Medium): You can either assign a group of students this homework section or let them choose. This is the on-grade level section. It involves multiple skills and also higher-level thinking strategies.
BLACK DIAMOND (Hard): You can either assign a group of students this homework section or let them choose. This is the far-above grade level section (I teach gifted and talented students). This involves higher-level thinking skills. It involves skills not included in the grade level standards; however, is something that the students would usually be able to figure out if they understand the base concept very well.
I assign Snowboard Math to my students and then remediate them accordingly. They LOVE it. It gives struggling students the attention that they want and need and also the confidence to succeed. It also prevents anyone from being bored. The next level is always right there for them to try. If the whole class needs more time on a standard or concept, I just re-assign the same homework assignment and they do the next highest difficulty level. Often, students working on black diamond questions will work on it long after their homework, treating math more like a puzzle. There is a learning curve for implementing this differentiated math into your classroom; however, it is WELL worth the results!
