Need some more activities related to measurement and conversions? You just found a set of differentiated task cards!

Your students will solve a variety of real world measurement problems. There are different types of questions: multiple choice, short answer (yes, writing in math), measure with rulers, and sort vocabulary words.

This activity includes 40 colorful task cards, student recording sheets, scratch paper, math charts, and an answer key. All you need to do is download, print, laminate and cut. What an easy activity to prep! :)

There are so many ways you can use task cards- small group, centers, homework practice, intervention, math games, or test review. This activity addresses the 4th grade standards, but it's definitely a great resource for 5th-6th graders in intervention or in Special Education. They'll get the extra math boost!

This activity is aligned to TEKS 4.8A, 4.8B, and 4.8C.
4.8A identify relative sizes of measurement units within the customary and metric systems
4.8B convert measurements within the same measurement system, customary or metric, from a smaller unit into a larger unit or a larger unit into a smaller unit when given other equivalent measures represented in a table
4.8C solve problems that deal with measurements of length, intervals of time, liquid volumes, mass, and money using addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division as appropriate

4th grade teachers in Common Core states:
This activity is aligned to CC 4.MD.A.1.
Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36).
