Product Description
Digital Directed Drawings are a great way for students to practice following directions while learning how to use digital tools to make designs. This resource will require students to create the basic parts of a flower/plant (roots, stem, leaves, flower/blossom) using Google Drive™.

The teacher will project the included directions presentation in Google Slides™ on the board. Students will open a new Google Drawing™ template on their Chromebook, laptop or computer. (Google Drawing is not available on iPads). The slides in the presentation walk students through each step to create a simple flower. Each step is animated (when in presentation mode) so students can read the directions, carry out the directives on their device and then check to see if they did the step correctly once the main presentation advances (just click!). The steps follow the same order that a flower grows: roots, stem, leaves and then flower blossom. The last step of the activity requires students to add a text box and write a few sentences about their flower, the plant life cycle, parts of a flower/plants, whatever you would like!

Technology skills covered:

★Undo
★Using the Shapes tool
★Using the Scribble tool
★Changing colors of shapes/drawings
★Tilting objects
★Duplicating or creating a copy of objects
★Arranging objects (bring to front/bring to back)
★Inserting a textbox
★Customizing font (style, size and color)

Three skills are hit in this one activity: technology fluency, science (parts of a flower) and writing. This Google Classroom activity would be GREAT for children who are just beginning to learn how to use Google Drawing™. Other Google Drawing skills can be found in my THE WATER CYCLE DIGITAL DIRECTED DRAWING, DIGITAL DIRECTED DRAWING IN GOOGLE DRIVE™: PLANT AND ANIMAL CELLS and BUTTERFLY DIGITAL DIRECTED DRAWING Activities!

This product comes as a link in a PDF file. First, make sure you are signed into your Google account. Click on the link and you will be prompted to "Make a Copy". Rename the file to whatever you would like. The presentation will be sent directly to your Drive!
