This digital JULY THEMED "Would You Rather" writing journal in Google Slides™ is a great way for students to engage in opinion writing through typed responses. It can be used at home or at school! Students will have to make a decision (sometimes silly) between two things and write which they would choose and WHY. This resource was created for Melissa M :)
This paperless resource for Google Drive™ comes with 31 different writing prompts for the month of July. However, the last editable slide is intended to be duplicated as many times as needed if you would like to add more prompts or substitute any that I have provided. Since many schools are on summer break during the month of July this resource can be used in summer school or sent home with students to complete over their break.
Students can complete one prompt a day or a few at a time. Some of the slides correspond to certain holidays. For instance, the 4th prompt is about Independence Day (The 4th of July). Several of the seasonal, foodie and pop culture days that are celebrated in July are covered in this resource:
★International Joke Day
★World UFO Day
★National Stay Out of the Sun Day
★National Fried Chicken Day
★National Video Game Day
★National Sugar Cookie Day
★National Kitten Day
★National Free Slurpee Day
★National Eat Your Jell-O Day
★National French Fry Day
★National Give Something Away Day
★World Emoji Day
★World Listening Day
★National Hot Dog Day
★National Lollipop Day
★National Junk Food Day
★National Hammock Day
★National Clean Beaches Week

A 25 point editable grading rubric is included if you wish to grade student work. Add your own criteria! Optional: At the end of the month, once all slides have been completed, students can choose a couple of their best responses and drag them to the top of their slideshow. These could be the ones that are taken for a grade.
All slides can be printed and are set to print on 11x8.5 paper. If you need to print any of the slides for students to handwrite their response, simply delete the text box before printing.
Can be used on Chromebooks, laptops, computers or iPads!
