Be sure to check out my blog post about DIGITAL choice boards: 5 REASONS TO USE DIGITAL CHOICE BOARDS☺
The choice board contains 9 different digital activities that can be marked off as they are completed by dragging the translucent red "Xs" to lay on top of the rectangles that describe each activity. The text on the choice menu is EDITABLE so you can change out or rearrange the activities to fit your needs. Students can use it like a tic-tac-toe board OR you could have them complete all of the activities throughout the week. Think of it like a hyperdoc or hyperslide :)
IMPORTANT! This product does NOT teach you HOW to use these tools. Students must be familiar with how to use Google Slides and Google Drawing. The free web tools that are linked in are very intuitive for upper elementary and middle school students.
Activities that make up the choice menu (EDITABLE!):
★ Letter Writing: Use ABCya’s Letter Generator to write a letter written by the main character in the book you are currently reading. You choose who they are writing to!
★ Video It: Use Video Recorder to make a commercial that persuades someone to read the book you are currently reading.
★ Character Trading Card: Use Bug Huge Lab's Trading Card Creator to make a trading card about one of the characters in your book.
★ Make a Comic: Use Storyboard That to create a comic that retells the main events in the book or chapter you read.
★ Make a Prediction: Use the prediction slide to make a prediction about what you think will happen next. If you finished your book, predict what might happen in the next book you plan to read. (Slide contains a crystal ball that students type in)
★ Record It: Use Vocaroo to record yourself retelling what happened in the story/chapter your read.
★ Sequence It: Go to the Sequencing Slide and add four events that have happened so far in the book you are reading.
★ Compare & Contrast: Use Slide 7's Venn Diagram Creator to compare/contrast two characters from your story. Or, you could compare/contrast yourself to one of the main characters.
★ Draw It: Use the Google Drawing template (linked into choice board) to design a new book cover for the book you are currently reading.
