Be sure to check out my blog post about DIGITAL choice boards: 5 REASONS TO USE DIGITAL CHOICE BOARDS☺
The digital choice board contains 9 different digital activities that can be marked off as they are completed by dragging the translucent red "Xs" to lay on top of the rectangles that describe each activity. The text on the choice menu is EDITABLE so you can change out or rearrange the activities to fit your needs. Students can use it like a tic-tac-toe board OR you could have them complete all of the activities throughout the week. Think of it like a hyperdoc or hyperslide :)
IMPORTANT! This product does NOT! teach you HOW to use these tools. The FREE web tools that are linked in are very intuitive for upper elementary.
Several activity slides are included that are explained below as well as editable slides for students to paste links to outside creations as well as screenshots. Duplicate as many as you need throughout the year! They are set to print on 11x8.5 paper if you want a hard copy.
Activities that make up the choice menu (EDITABLE!):
★ Create a Scene: Use Toony Tool to create a visual cartoon scene. Add speech bubbles and try to use 5 of your words in sentences to fit with your scene.
★ Create a Word Search: Use ABCya’s Word Search creator to create a word search using all of your words. Then solve the digital version. (Students can screenshot their completed word search and add it to a blank slide of the presentation if you would like to hold them accountable for their work. They also have the option of printing their word search.)
★ Highlight It: Use the Highlight It template that comes in this presentation. Type 10 of your most challenging words in the text boxes and drag the yellow squares to highlight all of the vowels in each word. Or, use the highlighter tool under the font color menu to highlight the vowels.
★ Create a Word Cloud: Create a word cloud of all your words using ABCya’s Word Cloud Generator.
★ Sort It: Use one of the sorting mats included (4 different mats are included: 2 features, 3 features, 4 features and 5 features). Choose 10 of your most challenging words and type them in the rectangles. Fill in the sort features at the top of the chart and then drag & drop your words to their correct category.
★ Record It: Use Vocaroo to record yourself using 10 of your spelling words in sentences. (Students can link in their recording to a blank slide or generate a QR code from the website to print or add to a blank slide)
★ Write It: Go to the Sentences/Paragraph slide and type sentences or a paragraph using all of your words. Or, open a new Google Doc and type sentences or a paragraph using all of your spelling words.
★ Spin It: Use Wheel of Names to type all of your spelling words in the box. Then spin the wheel 5 times. Type the 5 words you spin in a sentence.
★Rainbow Words: Use the rainbow words slide template below to type your words and change the font color of each letter to represent the colors of a rainbow.
All web tools are hyperlinked (including opening a new Doc) so students can quickly and easily access the tool they need.
Once again, the activities are EDITABLE so you can rearrange and change them out throughout the year.
**ADDITION** I have added a very simple and EDITABLE grading rubric that you can either print and fill in or keep digital.
