This game works similarly to the board game CLUE. The clues will help students to identify a mystery number. Each student will have a card with 27 numbers on it. As classmates read clues about the number's identity, students eliminate and cover numbers with the CLUE markers provided. By following the clues, students will be able to cover all other numbers until only the mystery number remains.
The clues are based on the divisibility tests for 2,3,5,6,9, and 10. There are also clues about what numbers are in the ones, tens, and hundreds place-values.
This product includes a game board to be copied for each student, 9 sets of clues(24 clues per set)that can be used many times, board markers, and a one page, large print handout of the divisibility tests.
Although this wasn't necessarily designed to be instruction, it could be. With the divisibility handout in front of them, you could read the clues and slowly walk students through what numbers to cover (possibly by using a game board transparency on an overhead). After walking them through a set (or two), students could then try it on their own.
