Great way to introduce GENETIC ENGINEERING with the following scenario in the lab:

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE LIPS THAT TASTE LIKE STRAWBERRIES, KIWI or HOT PEPPERS? All you need to do is extract the DNA from these plants, isolate the flavor gene, and insert it in all the cells of your lips!!!!!

This lab would be the first step in being able to genetically engineer your cells to have traits similar to other organisms. DNA is present in the cells of all living organisms. This procedure is designed to extract DNA from various DNA sources in sufficient quantity to be seen and spooled.
