Project X-MEN, is a project based learning unit which is aligned to the NEW Next Generation Science Standards and some Common Core ELA and Math standards. The Project focuses on DNA structure, DNA replication, Protein Synthesis and Gene Mutations. There is a fun Super Hero theme that surrounds this Project. Including life like scenarios, and the creation of potentially, real life situations.
Follow your students as they begin to develop a new genetically engineered breed of Super Hero, all the time enhancing and fine tuning their understanding of genetics, DNA structure, and Gene mutations. The project leads them to the ultimate point where they meet their interview panel and find out whether they will be admitted to the Xavier institute for Genetics. There are fun worksheets, DNA Fun labs, and Mini projects that culminate into their final final project and presentation.
This is a great Project for both Students and their teacher. You do not have to be an Super Hero fan to teach this Project. The Packet has everything that you need to start teaching straight away, it includes:
