Students transcribe a sequence of DNA into a strand of mRNA. They then translate their mRNA by moving about the classroom locating the correct aminoacyl tRNA and recording the “amino acid” word carried by each. If no mutations occurred during transcription or translation, the end result will be a meaningful “protein” phrase.
