I use this DOTs chart as a review or culminating activity to check for understanding. I let the students work in pairs or small groups to fill in as much as they can on the chart. I put a title on the top of the DOTs chart - for example "Skeletal System". My students might put 'rib cage' in the R box. Or they may put 'elbow' in the E box. As the students are filling in the chart I hear them discussing what these words mean and where they find them on their body. You can do this with any subject area or Unit.
