Dab It Addition - Sums 11-18
This is a great activity to use in a math station to help children learn addition facts. Paint dabbers will be
needed. If you don’t have paint dabbers, crayons can be used. Paint dabbers are well worth buying.
The children can use the number line on each page to solve the equations if needed. They will dab all
the equations that equal the given answer/sum.
6 Sheets Included:
=11 (only dab sums of 11 any color)
=12 (only dab sums of 12 any color)
=13 (only dab sums of 13 any color)
=14 or 15 (dab sums of 14 one color & 15 another color)
=16, 17, or 18 (dab sums of16 one color, 17 one color, and 18 another color)
= 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, or 18 (use 6 different colors)
I provided 3 different sheets for sums of 14 or 15. One sheet the children use blue and red dabbers.
On another sheet they use yellow and green paint and the third sheet they use purple and orange. I did
this so all children wouldn’t need the same color paint dabbers at the same time. I provided 2 sheets
for the sums of 16, 17, and 18 using different color paint dabbers for the same reason. The equations
on all these sheets are the same, only the color of paint dabbers to use are different.
Dab to Show
The children will use a different color dabber to dab each addend. They will dab the first addend at the
top pf the box and the 2nd addend underneath the first one. They will write the sum to complete the
There are 6 of these sheets.
