This NO PREP game is a fun and interactive way to practice vocabulary from the D'accord 2 textbook, Unité 4: En ville.
Additional materials needed: bingo markers in several colors or something to function as markers in several colors.
The grid has 49 boxes total. The goal of this game is to take 4 boxes in a row: vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Can be played in groups of 2-3 students.
Two versions of the game are included: one with pictures and words in English; one with words in French. In order to win a box, the player needs to give the French definition of the English word or give the French word for the image in the first version. In the second (and easier version), players give the English meaning of the French word.
Players take turns with play continuing until one person has won 4 boxes in a row.
Unlike a true Connect 4 game, in this version a marker can be placed anywhere on the board.
Players need to try to get 4 in a row while simultaneously blocking their opponent from doing the same.
