This NO PREP game is a fun and interactive way to practice vocabulary from the D'accord 3 textbook, Leçon 10. The grid has 49 boxes total.
Additional materials needed: bingo markers in several colors or something to function as markers.
The goal of this game is to take 4 boxes in a row: vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
There are 2 game boards.
In order to win a box, the player needs to give the name of the item in French or the correct translation of the English word into French. On the second game board, players give the English equivalent of the French word in order to win the box. My students find this version to be easier.
Players take turns with play continuing until one person has won 4 boxes in a row.
Unlike a true Connect 4 game, in this version a marker can be placed anywhere on the board.
Players need to try to get 4 in a row while simultaneously blocking their opponent from doing the same.
