This game can be played in groups of 2-3 students.
Additional materials needed: 2 dice per group
This game is for practicing writing the conjugations of irregular -OIR verbs in the present tense or the present subjunctive. The game board includes 48 squares with a subject and verb in the infinitive. Directions are also included on the game board.
There is an answer key for both the present tense and the subjunctive. I offer my students the choice of which tense they want to practice and group them accordingly, as some students feel that the present tense is too simple and others still need practice. Other verb tenses could be proposed. Just prepare a separate answer key.
Directions: Each player rolls 2 dice. The sum of the dice determines which square you can fill in. You need to conjugate the verb in the box with the subject given. Each player needs to write with a different color. If you can’t answer anything with the number that you rolled within 30 seconds, or there are no boxes available with the number you rolled, you lose your turn. 8s are wild so if you roll an 8, you can choose any square to fill in. When all squares are filled, check your answers with the key and the player with the most number of correct answers wins!
