Thanks for coming back for the second part of my Math Writing stations!
As part of Math Daily 3, I use this packet as a Math Writing extension in my classroom. The kiddos LOVE being able to make up their own word problems and use their imaginations! They like to think of it as writing 'math stories'!
This packet is all about using tape diagrams in order to create and solve word problems. In this packet, you will find 20 pages of math writing prompts. This activity gives students a chance to show their creativity as well as practice their math word problem skills. This is also a great way to differentiate your math stations. Depending on skill levels, students can stick to simple addition or challenge themselves with subtraction or missing addend problems. You could also break up the packet and use it as individual worksheets. I would love to hear how you use this in your classroom!
