I use these cards to display how our ELA block will run each day. The first 5 minutes are used to complete a bell ringer on the smart board, which we then go over as a whole class. This gives me time to collect any missing work or meet with a student who was absent the day before. Then, we go through each letter of the word ‘READ’. Each rotation usually lasts 30 minutes, and sometimes I combine two letters during one rotation. Last, the final 5 minutes are used to fill out their agendas and pack up. This provides enough structure for kids, yet provides opportunity for flexibility!
