Want to monitor your students Daily 5 choices automatically and without any thought or time required from you or your students?
Are you using The Daily 5 program in your classroom? Want a foolproof system to ensure your students are going to each activity without repeating one? This is it and it doesn’t require ANY monitoring from you!
My Daily 5 monitoring program highlights the available activities in green each student can choose without letting him/her repeat any one until all 5 have been visited. Once a student has been to an activity, it becomes unavailable, but leaves the others highlighted.
Example: Student #5 has been to Word Work and Listen to Reading. She goes to choose another activity on the next Daily 5 round (regardless if it is today or next week), and only Work on Writing, Read to Self and Read to Someone is available to put their number in. If she tries to choose Word Work or Listen to Reading (the two she has already visited), her number is automatically put back in the list of numbers below the Daily 5 choices. Once all 5 activities have been visited, the program automatically opens all activities back up.
What about when you are just launching Daily 5 at the beginning of the year. We only have 3 activities open for students to use; Read to Self, Read to Someone and Work on Writing. You can use the program for practice, then after a rotation you simply click “Reset” to allow students to visit any activity during the next round. Reset opens all activities back up to all students.
What if a student says they haven’t gone to Listen to Reading and the program won’t let him chose that specific activity? Click on the “View Log” button and a record of all stations visited by each number listed with the date submitted will appear for you to review. You can then show them they did go to Listen to Reading.
The program is customizable as well. You choose how many students you have in your class from 1 – 44. Then you chose how many students are at each activity, 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 students.
Once purchased, the program is yours to use in your classroom. The Daily 5 program works easily on your classroom smartboard or teacher computer running on a Windows Program.
Program download is for single classroom use only and may not be shared or redistributed. Program needs to install to your desktop.
