All inclusive Daily-5 Check in system. Great for keeping students on track for their Daily-5 rotations without the need for a large bulletin board or complicated display. Everything you need to monitor your Daily-5 stations can be run from one single Powerpoint slide!!!
Includes infinitely adjustable timer on each slide. Three "rounds" ready to go back to back to back. Perfect for assigning students rotations based on their classroom numbers.
To display without filling up your entire screen: open powerpoint, go to slideshow tab, click "set up show", click "browsed by an individual window" and you will be able to resize the powerpoint on your screen any way you want to without filling up the entire screen. Great way to run a timer next to the powerpoint if you're using a mac!
To operate: either "pick" stations for them ahead of time by typing their number in a box on the slide or pull the PowerPoint up in "edit mode", draw Popsicle sticks, let kids chose until stations are full, etc. and type their number in box then click "slideshow" mode and you will have all their numbers locked in for that rotation.
The timer will not show up until you launch "presentation mode" but at that time you can set it for any time frame you want for that round and click start in the timer.
Once the timer finishes, allow students time to clean up, transition, etc., and if you typed their numbers into boxes on the next slide ahead of time, you can go right into the next slide and have them already set up for their next rotation!
While in presentation mode with the timer going, click on the numbers in the grey box at the bottom once you have conferred or "checked-in" with each individual student, great for keeping yourself accountable and making sure you touch base with each student during their rotation! Can also be used for BEHAVIOR issues, mark students who are off task during the rotation giving them a visual to get back on track, etc.
*Timers from this powerpoint may not run on Macs due to "Active X" controls which only run on windows* To run this on a Mac you need a little creative engineering: open powerpoint, click the slide show tab at the bar on the very top of the screen, click "set up show" and click "browsed by an individual window". Now you can resize the ppt to any size other than full screen. You would need a youtube video, countdown timer or .mov file to play, but you could move it next to the ppt and show them side by side.
Moving this powerpoint from one computer to another or from a computer to usb or email, I have noticed, will cause the animations not to work any longer. Make sure you download it to the computer you plan on using it on and try to avoid moving the file around if you're able!!
