I created this board as a check-in board for my second graders. Each morning, I move the "T" choice to the correct students according to our guided reading schedule, then they choose their remaining 4 choices.
Some tips for using the Notebook file for check-in:
1. Clone your blank page multiple times so each day you are starting with a fresh page. That way, you don't have to delete each item from the chart every day.
2. Teach your kiddos how to use the UNDO button! Many conflicts and issues can be solved by the students just undoing their actions. It is inevitable that they will accidentally plop their choice in the wrong spot. If they know to automatically go to the undo button, they can solve their own problems. Trust me, this saves A TON of headaches!
3. Hit SAVE as soon as the students are done checking in. That way, if something happens to the computer or file, you can easily revert to that day's choices.
