Does "checking in" your students between stations slow you down?
Are you hoping to teach your students independence and self-efficacy? This could be a great help!
I utilize this small planner (4 to a sheet) regularly during my Daily 5 stations. Rather than having to "check in" students between stations, students utilize this tool. Instead of checking in each student one-by-one, they each take a moment to select and "check" their next activity between stations.
The planner includes all Daily 5 activities (Read to Self, Work on Writing, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Word Work). Additionally, it includes "Respond to Reading" where students complete a reader's response (as per the routine in your own classroom).
Planners are collected to hold students accountable for completing stations appropriately. They are great to use when your stations span over multiple days!
