This PowerPoint goes over the importance of picking a spot for read to self in Daily 5. To begin the lesson/PowerPoint, the teacher should select a book and read it out loud to the class while doing the wrong things such as walking around the room. Then, the PowerPoint has the students try to figure out what was wrong about the reading. Next, the students brainstorm a list of good and bad spots for Read to Self. The last slide is a challenge slide that has the students pick a good spot and read for 8 minutes without moving or getting distracted.
