I made these task cards for my students to complete during our Daily 5 time, however they are not specifically for Daily 5 and can be used during any sort of literacy block/reading center
These relate to the major 2nd and 3rd grade reading skills (character, main idea and details, compare/contrast, asking & answering questions, and summarizing.) We usually work on each skill for a few weeks and some even twice during the year so you can use the task cards over and over again
There are two levels RED for on level students and BLUE for accelerated or advanced students. There is a card for every Daily 5 center (listen to reading, read to self, read to someone, word work and work on writing)
I have these hanging in a file (I usually make at least 2 copies of each color for every center) students pick their task card based on what center they are at that day/rotation.
I have included a must do and may do activity for every center.
I have also included blank cards at the end of this so you can customize to suit your students needs.
Note: this task cards require students to use apps like chatterkids, telestory, educreations. These are free apps, they have a very quick learning curve and students love them!
