Use these 102 colorful boards to reinforce identifying initial sound
skills. Great to use for literacy centers, guided reading follow-up activity, or work for early finishers!
I have these printed on cardstock. On the back side I put a small sticker (think reward chart size: smiley face, star, etc.) in the same area on the back as the correct blend. I laminate each page and cut each board out. (There are 4 boards to each page.) Then, students select a board and a clothespin and clip it on the correct sound that matches the picture. They can do a self check but flipping the board over and seeing if their clothespin is touching the sticker you placed on the back. My kids love checking their work and put their completed boards into piles of "right" and "wrong".
This is an easy and fun way for students to apply the skills they have learned. This has also helped increase my ELL and ESE students' vocabulary. I hope your students like this game as much as mine do!
