The DCA (Daily Class Assistant) is a student sheet filled out each day of the week by a chosen student. This is very important for students who are absent. Instead of taking class time to ask the teacher what was done the previous day, the student should go to the DCA (a folder holding these sheets) to check what was done during class, what should be written in their lab notebook, homework that was turned in and any handouts that they need. They can find the handouts in the bin labeled Extra Handouts. The teacher needs to make sure the extra WS's, etc. go into the extra hand out bin. The DCA saves class time, informs the student of what was done while they were gone, and helps catch the student up. The student might have to get one-on-one help (during lunch) for the concepts that were missed. On a white board there should be a section labeled
DCA and students should be rotated (alphabetically) each week. The student may earn 5 extra credit points for completing the DCA for the week.
