Students deal with so many emotions throughout any given day - but they don't always get the opportunity to share how they are feeling.
This Daily Character Journal prompts students to reflect and think about how they are feeling. Each day, students will fill out a page about their day. This is a perfect activity for the end of the day, during transition or packing up time. You could also use this with particular students who need an outlet for their thoughts and feelings, or for reluctant writers who need a little push to get their ideas on paper.
There are 3 versions of the journal included.
Version 1: My Daily Journal
•Daily Journal Cover Page
•All About Monday: Words to describe my day, words I want to remember, a problem I had today,my goal for this week
•All About Tuesday: Words to describe my day, how I felt this morning/afternoon, favorite/least favorite part of the day
•All About Wednesday: Words to describe my day, a picture of my day, something positive/negative about today
•All About Thursday: Words to describe my day, something funny that happened today, what's on my mind today, one thing I wish I could change, something I worked on today
•All About Friday: Words to describe my day, today I felt (emotion/reason), an act of kindness, goal reflection
Version 2: My Daily Journal
This version is exactly the same as version 1, except that the pages are not labeled with the days. Each page says "All About today" at the top. This gives the teacher a little more flexibility in how to use the pages. You may choose which one to give students each day, or even let students choose their own.
Version 3: My Weekly Journal
The page content is exactly the same, but each page says "all about my week" at the top. You could choose which page to give students at the end of the week, or let them choose on their own. A cover page ("My Weekly Journal") is also included.
*Please note that the total page count is inclusive of all 3 versions.
This journal is a great way to provide your students a healthy outlet for their thoughts and emotions and incorporate character education in a quick daily routine.
