Use this set of pages to create a class book that re-caps each day in
your classroom. (Project on front board to have students help you complete the page or copy it. 1st grade can write their own!)
Print one copy of the colored page for each month on cardstock and
laminate along with a blank piece of cardstock to create the front and
back covers for your monthly books.
Print one copy of the blackline pages for each school day that
occurs each month. So, if there are 10 school days in December, print
10 blackline pages for Dec. and number them with the dates of each
school day in Dec.
At the end of each day, have your students help you to complete each
page by telling you something that happened in class that day.
Each day, have one student (your “special student of the day”)
illustrate that day’s page.
At the end of the month, glue a class list inside the front cover and
send the book home with the first students. Parents can read the
journal with their child and find out what as happened in school that
month. They return the journal the next day and you send it home
with the next child on the list.
