I use this every year! It is the best way to keep daily communication with parents that doesn't take a ton of time out of your day. When students enter the classroom, they know to take their folder out and put it in the basket next to their mailboxes. I quickly put a smiley face sticker on the date and slip it in their mailbox. Students who have a good day keep their sticker. If something comes up that only requires 2 or more verbal warning, the student loses their sticker and they are given a number that corresponding with the negative behavior. If the verbal warning does not suffice, students lose the sticker and are given a 7, indicating that there is a note that must be signed and returned detailing their behavior. Students who have a full page of stickers at the end of the month are allowed to go to treasure box.
** I also use this to note when students came into class late, miss school, brought in a note, or when notes were sent home. This had been a life saver when I have had issues with parents saying "I never got that note/reminder/lunch money notice" I can pull this paper back out and show them exactly when things were sent home.
