Description

This set, Set 1, includes these 3 full products: Click each link to see more detail.

5th Gr. Math Vocabulary PowerPoint Slideshow + Posters {OA} Operations & Algebraic Thinking

5th Gr. Math Vocabulary PowerPoint Slideshow + Posters {NBT} Number & Operations in Base Ten

5th Math Vocabulary PowerPoint Slideshow + Posters {NF} Number & Operations - Fractions

The bundled set includes 3 Common Core math domains PowerPoint slideshows with math vocabulary slides and word wall posters. Also included is a student activity where students write and draw about the word each day. The slideshow is themed around getting a “Daily Dose” of math.

The set includes all 5th grade Common Core math vocabulary words (and then some more that I added that are important for fifth graders to know).

3 PowerPoint Slideshows: 237 slides

You will choose the word from the domain words that your students need to learn. The slideshow is really easy to use! Just use the slide sorter view and move the slide in between the title and ending slide. I designed the set with choice in mind: Use which format you prefer: 1) Today’s word is….. or 2) Monday’s Word is…, Tuesday’s Word is… etc. To keep you organized, when you’ve used the slides, there are slides that you will move the used words in between. You’ll use this set year after year!

3 Math Domains Word Wall Poster Sets: 193 posters

The full-page size PDF math word wall posters are colorful and designed to be readable from across the room and are great projected full size on your screen. The posters give the word, definition in kid-friendly language, and a visual. Students will refer to the posters all the time.

Student Activity: 9 pages

Students will write the definition, draw the word, make up a math problem showing use of the word, and give an example of the word in real life. The student activity also comes with choices of formats: Full-page size or half sheet size. You can use the provided student PDF or customize the editable PDF version and type the criteria you want for your students. There’s also a math journal sticker/label that you can print on an Avery 2x4 inch label.

Teacher Materials: 20 pages

Teacher directions, hints and tips are included with visuals showing you how to use this great set. Also included are all of the 5th grade CCSS-M standards, and a listing of words/posters listed alphabetically with standards.

See the 7-page preview to see everything included in this great set!

Solve real world problems involving division of unit fractions by non-zero whole numbers and division of whole numbers by unit fractions, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem. For example, how much chocolate will each person get if 3 people share 1/2 lb of chocolate equally? How many 1/3-cup servings are in 2 cups of raisins?
Interpret division of a whole number by a unit fraction, and compute such quotients. For example, create a story context for 4 ÷ (1/5), and use a visual fraction model to show the quotient. Use the relationship between multiplication and division to explain that 4 ÷ (1/5) = 20 because 20 × (1/5) = 4.
Interpret division of a unit fraction by a non-zero whole number, and compute such quotients. For example, create a story context for (1/3) ÷ 4, and use a visual fraction model to show the quotient. Use the relationship between multiplication and division to explain that (1/3) ÷ 4 = 1/12 because (1/12) × 4 = 1/3.
Apply and extend previous understandings of division to divide unit fractions by whole numbers and whole numbers by unit fractions.
Solve real world problems involving multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem.
