This is a great way to teach children about estimation...and it just takes a few minutes each day to complete! We began by using the Estimation Jar in the classroom each day. I placed items in a classroom plastic jar, and the children would make predictions. Together, we would count the items and discuss our predictions. Not only is this activity great for estimation, but it also teaches place value. Finally, after several days of modeling, I would invite children to bring the jar home themselves to fill up and return to school the next day. With regular practice using our Estimation Jar, your students will master this important skill! *You'll be able to customize your booklets by coping however many pages you'd like.
