This set includes 20 days of writing ideas. Each sheet includes 3 different prompts giving your students a choice. That means you get 60 informative writing prompts in total. Included is a student reference sheet describing narrative writing and basic criteria for it.
Each set of prompts comes in four different formats to allow for flexibility in your classroom. These prompts are intended as quick writes (10-15 minutes a day) to increase fluency and interest in writing. They were tested in fourth and fifth grade classes and work great as a start to the day activity or an end of the day wrap up. Students choose which prompt they want to write about and the writing is not assessed. The prompts could be used as an idea bank throughout the year as well. You could also have students select a prompt to publish every few weeks, every month or every term.
Print the prompts by day, by week or by month and watch your students’ interest and fluency in writing grow. They will be begging you for more!
This resource is a reorganization of the Daily Writing Prompts Month-by-Month for those who focus on one writing type at a time. They are NOT new prompts but rather, we have taken the expository prompts from the whole year package and put them into 3 sets.
