This is an engaging way for students with limited communication skills to communicate with their families about their school day. Completing sentence stems answer What, Where and Who questions about their day.
Most of my products are designed to aid teachers and parents in differentiating for their students with special needs.
✿ WHAT THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS:
✴ 3 pages including pictures and sentence stems
✴ 4 pages of pictures to aid students in finishing sentences
❤ PERSONAL NOTE:
I have a student with autism who started using a version of this daily journal in second grade. I would give him two choices for what he had, say, for breakfast, to encourage him to make choices. In 5th grade, he took over filling in the journal on his own.
✿ CUSTOMER TIPS:
Depending on the level of your students, an adult may need to assist them in selecting, cutting, and pasting the events of their day into the journal before lunch and at the end of the day (or once a day, if that’s all there is time for!). The eventual goal would be to allow them to take responsibility for doing it themselves. Have fun!
