Fantastic Five is a phrase I coined for my daily math review. The students receive a sheet copied front to back with five problems for Monday thru Thursday. My students complete these as their morning work and we review and discuss them during the first part of our math lesson. These problems provide a great opportunity for math talk: Why did you choose addition? About how much would that be? How would your answer change if your graph changed?
On Fridays, I give the students a 10 problem test that includes similar problems to the ones we have discussed all week. Stay tuned for the correlating test for this week's Fantastic Five. I look forward to creating a year's worth just for you!
