Updated in 2016 to reflect Common Core State Standards for Mathematics!
The Daily Number Line is a powerful math routine, featuring a number line that spans from 0-100%, representing the first 100 days of the school year. Students engage in a daily interactive procedure using a graphic organizer and active participation, assigning the school day a number and representing it as a fraction, decimal and percent on a number line. The Daily Number Line builds from day 1 of the school year and, with extensions, can be used all the way to day 180! Each day, your students' conceptual understanding of fractions, decimals, percents and overall number sense will grow by leaps and bounds. The Daily Number Line will spark mathematics discourse in your classroom, from topics like patterns and equivalent fractions, to mixed numbers, fraction and decimal operations, and fraction, decimal and percent equivalents.
The Daily Number Line Pack includes implementation directions and visual examples, 2" x 2" fraction, decimal, and percent cards for the first 100 days of the school year and a graphic organizer to support Daily Number Line implementation in your classroom.
