Tired of hearing "What did I miss yesterday?" when your students are absent? Me too. Use this daily planner and agenda in Google Slides to house everything your students use and need in one place!
How to do it: I use a new slideshow for each unit and the first two slides include a unit overview and calendar. Following these are the daily slides I create as I go. In the agenda, I link to every document, video, website, etc. that is shown or passed out in class. The slides also include sections for what students need to take out as they come in, daily warm-ups, and that night's homework.
Why this is a game-changer: If a student is absent or is on independent study, they do not have to ask you what they missed! They can simply reference your slides online. I embed my slideshows on to my class website. Don't maintain one? Give students the link to your slideshow and have them bookmark it!
Why parents and students will sing your praises: Embedding your slideshow on a site allows parents to see what we are up to and more importantly, what the homework is! Think of all the parent emails asking about what an assignment is this will save you from. It provides students an archive too, allowing them to look back on slideshows, handouts, and other materials used in class throughout the unit.
Why you'll thank yourself: Once you have your slideshows for each unit, all you have to do next year is update as needed!
