This resource contains 30 problems involving place value, comparing, ordering, and rounding decimals (through the thousandths place). They are written like word problems, with several problems incorporating tables, pictures, grids, and number lines.
There are so many options with this set! You can move through the problems one at a time or skip to specific problems as you see fit for your students. These work well as a quick warm-up to your math lesson, an option for morning work, or an activity in a math center/rotation. By solving one problem a day, it’s easy for kids to continue reviewing these skills all year long.
• reading, writing, representing, and identifying decimals expressed through thousandths
• rounding decimals to the nearest whole number, tenth, and hundredth
• comparing and ordering decimals
• determining decimal and fraction equivalents
Each problem is listed on its own page; it can be projected onto a whiteboard or screen, printed and posted in your room (maybe on an interactive bulletin board), or even printed to create a set of task cards.
Also included are suggestions for preparation and use, an answer key, and a student answer sheet.
This resource is aligned with Virginia Mathematics SOL 4.3, but will work in any classroom.
