Product Description
In the middle of last year, our principal hired a Math coach to help us deliver RIT Band instruction and differentiate in the classroom. However, in the middle of the year, I found that I didn't have enough time to truly develop something useful and effective.

This worksheet reflects what I would have done had I had the time. These worksheets address one DesCartes statement a day (Monday - Thursday) from both strands of the Operations and Algebraic Thinking domain and the three strands of Numbers & Operations domains. (Measurement & Data and Geometry will be forthcoming)

Each purchase includes:
--student worksheet (with workspace on the back)
--Answer Key (with DesCartes goal for each problem on the back)

These can be used as a Bellringer or in Math Centers for practice or to evaluate individual deficits. Cross reference the DesCartes statements with online resources to find online activities/worksheets for targeted instruction in tutoring or small group instruction setting.

The DesCartes statements that this worksheet addresses are as follows:

• Demonstrates an understanding of the commutative property of multiplication
• Demonstrates an understanding of the zero property of multiplication
• Demonstrates an understanding of the identity property of multiplication
• Demonstrates an understanding of the commutative, zero, and identity properties of multiplication
• Analyzes a growing, arithmetic pattern with numbers to determine the rule
• Completes a simple function table based on real-life situations (e.g., the number of tricycles related to the number of wheels)
• Extends a growing arithmetic pattern, defined by objects or diagrams
• Explains different interpretations of fractions (e.g., parts of a whole, parts of a set, and division of whole numbers by whole numbers)
• Identifies 1/3 from a region or set
• Adds decimals to the hundredths place (same number of digits) • Adds decimals to the hundredths place in vertical format (not same number of digits)
• Adds multiple-digit numbers with sums under 1000
• Adds multiple-digit numbers, with regrouping, with sums over 1000
• Compares whole numbers to 100, using the symbols for 'less than', 'equal to', or 'greater than'
• Identifies the numeral and written name for whole numbers 10,000 to 100,000
• Identifies the place value and value of each digit in whole numbers through the hundred thousands
• Identifies the place value and value of each digit in whole numbers through the hundred thousands
• Identifies the place value and value of each digit in whole numbers through the thousands

Additional worksheets for this RIT band are forthcoming. Try this and rate it, please!

Something to note: I couldn't fit Friday on the worksheet. Friday could be reserved for the direct instruction or online activities once deficits have been identified through the week.
