This is the perfect interactive journal to encourage thought and reflection from your students! It is a collection of 30 questions for students to ponder and reflect on their own learning. Questions range from, "What stuck with you today?" to "What helped you to stay focused during read aloud today?" These can be assigned at the end of a lesson, or at the end of the day. I have mine set up in a crate and allow students to choose one that fits their own needs. I try to respond to them quickly so that we can keep an exchange going, and so that I can learn from them as well. Timing may vary for each kiddo depending on their own needs. The goal is to help students to think about their own learning so that they can understand how they learn best. This tool is also a great insight for teachers to understand how to tailor lessons to fit everyone's needs. It can be a wonderful tool to share at parent teacher conferences. I hope that it is an asset in your classroom!
